UPDATES 7/15/8

The Build is coming along GREAT!!!!

FACADE: we've scavanged lots of wood and have been putting it to use. The facade pieces are done, the awnings are underway, the doorframe has been laid out[complete with Saloon Doors and hanging hardware]. The floors have been about half laid out [before we ran out of 1X5] now we are scavenging for more wood to finish the floors. I've started trolling craigslist and have gotten a few leads.

BAR:Terry is all gung ho to build the bar...we've got the wood.....now to get a building.

TABLES/CHAIRS: Norm has been finding wooden chairs like crazy...last count was up to 13. AND she's got the tables in hand - YAY!

CANVAS/MURALS: Lucinda is painting the Marquee sign for the front and the mural for behind the bar. The rest of the canvas has been ordered and is on it's way to me.

POWER: M&Jovino have offered the use of their Gennie. We just need to build a box to keep it out of the elements and make sure we have gas/oil to keep it running.

TRANSPO: Terry has offered the use of his 20ft trailer.

WHOREHOUSE: Talked to Ellen yesterday...going on a thrift store shopping trip with her on Sunday. She's got dividing doors to stand up between the whorehouse and photobooth. She's also got red fabric/ropelights to decorate the inside of the whorehouse. The Stripper pole is at Theory Labs. and Sylvia is going to contact me with information for someone who has a base/stage for the pole.

PHOTOBOOTH: We've got a backdrop for the photos and Splat is going to set up the camera. easy peasy

LIGHTING: we've got the lamps for the marquee sign, need white xmas lights for inner perimeter, still not sure about what lighting fixtures folks are working on.

OTHER DECOR: Taxidermy? wooden signs with sayings. old west photos.

I've got the bar mapped out on paper with [what I percieve to be] correct dimensions. Next step paper model....should have a final model ready before the fundraiser.

Thus far the things we still need are:

Extenders for the bar [we have the center base section that includes shelves and closable doors] - we will be building these in SF

Storefront/Facade - will be building this in SF

Wooden Tables - can be built in SF or LA

Bar Stools

Wooden Chairs

Rocking Chairs - for the front porch area

Canvas for the Walls

Canvas/decoration for the bar facade

Blown up old west photos [gonna talk to Spork and/or Ray about where they did the ones for Flipside]

Planking for floors - I have the wood, just need to lay it out and measure

hitching posts....or corral fence

pallets and plywood for behind the bar - weeeeeee no mudpits this year.

Spittoons - Kevissimo bought a bunch for Twigs a couple years ago..we might be able to use those

Lighting - I have an idea for a "chandelier" but otherwise we should brainstorm on what sort of lighting we want inside the bar at night and how we want to achieve it practically and aesthetically. Depending on what sort of budget we end up with, I'd ideally like to light up the "Saloon" sign that will be on the outer facade.

Saloon Doors and anchors/poles

Witty Little Sayings carved/burned into pieces of wood - these will be hung/placed around the room - will probably start a seperate thread for this....we should start collecting now so we can pick and choose which ones to make.

Mural - will hang behind the bar - Norm is in charge of this

various wooden crates and barrels

Standees - lifesize cutouts of Villains with guns....this is dependent on folks ponying up to pose for [and possibly purchase] standees...again....dependent on final budget
